meet the woodies!
Hey There!
We think we're special, and in
the spirit of blowing our own brass instrument we'd like to tell
you why!
We're an eclectic bunch of communication experts with interesting
and varied career paths in marketing. In fact most of us have
worked client-side which puts us in the unique position of
understanding where you're coming from - your pressures and
priorities. What binds us together is our passion for
communicating and our belief in the role internal communications
has to play in increasing a brand's profitability.
We're also dreamers,
thinkers and creators - but we're rooted in the commercial
realities of the real world, something we're sure you'll thank us
for. And we have a knack for being able to make complicated things
simple, providing a creative solution to a brief you might never
have thought possible - putting a smile on your face while we're at
it.
And we love people! We love nothing more than getting to know
them - be they your staff, your customers or Giuseppe from our
local Italian deli. Our love of people means we genuinely work in
partnerships with our clients. We're not in it for the glory - we
simply want to help you sell more of your things, to more people,
more often.
In the
spirit of 'inside out thinking
for brands' we Woodies have come up with some inside and outside
stuff about ourselves - so you can get to know us a bit before we
sit down and have a chat about you and what we can do for your
business.

Jo Moffatt
Managing Director
Having founded Woodreed over 16 years ago, Jo’s led the development of the agency’s ‘inside out thinking for brands’ proposition, drawing on her 20 years’ agency experience and previous sales and marketing roles in FMCG and precision engineering.
Outside Woodreed, Jo divides her time between supporting her three sons in their various sporting endeavours and attempting to create her own version of The Good Life, having ploughed up part of the garden for food and a home for the hens Snap, Crackle and Pop. She also continues to believe Born to Run is a pretty good philosophy for life – although what the Boss would think of the chickens is anyone’s guess.

Dave Wilson
Creative Director
Dave's solid retail, FMCG and branding experience - working on major brands such as Tabasco, Douwe Egberts and Campina - forms part of the backbone of Woodreed's creative inside. He's convinced that only a big idea can power successful creative and that the same big idea can become a commercial chocolate teapot without a perfect execution.
Outside work, Dave loves making people dance to a very different beat to that of his commercially-driven creative work - as a drummer in a funk/disco eight piece band. Dave's love of comedy is also important to him and his work, which comes in handy when trying to walk his two dogs, play tennis and control his mountain bike - though not all at the same time.

Charlotte Dahl
Planning Director
Charlotte’s worked in advertising and marketing for 13 years, on brands as diverse as Honda, FHM magazine, Selfridges, Marks and Spencer and Guinness World Records. Her career has spanned the traditional (advertising at BBH and WCRS), to the eclectic – including running a radio station for the National Lottery, and launching an online celebrity gossip magazine.
Outside, Charlotte’s passion is for her two small children using the mothering skills honed from years of working with creatives. She loves debating (“It is important to sometimes eat with a knife and fork rather than your hands” – discuss), and likes to unwind curled up in front of the fire with Grazia magazine and a large glass of red.

Jodie Davis
Art Director
Jodie’s worked at Woodreed for six years, and has established herself into our Art Director, whilst also gaining a business degree from the OU. Passionate about the design industry and her part in it, Jodie aims to produce great ideas built on solid strategic insights, executed with equal parts passion and excellent craft skills.
A bit of a free-spirited hippy, she likes to stop traffic and Mr Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells in their tracks with some snappy threads, rescued from the local charity shops and flea markets. Jodie’s also a trained ballet dancer and likes to get on her points every now and then and catch the odd show in London.Laura Burrows
Account Manager
During Laura’s five years experience in marketing communications, she has realised that relationships are the key to successful communications – those within the agency, between the agency and the client and between the brand and its customers. She’s built up these relationships working on clients such as Mazda, The Learning and Skills Council and the RSPCA.
As a die hard Take That fan, Laura’s delighted that - following their recent comeback - she can now re-live her teenage years. She tends to listen to the boys belt out their greatest hits whilst decorating her recently bought house, which boasts a healthy amount of 'feature' walls and other inspiration from her growing interest in interior design.
Catherine Lamb
Account Manager
Catherine has enjoyed hospitality marketing both as a client and working in an agency. Her added value comes in the form of making everything look and feel special, particularly useful when you’ve worked for such pedigree brands as Marriott Hotel Group and Hand Picked Hotels. Her role here is equally to make our clients look and feel special, a function that she performs skilfully with passion, commitment and care.
Catherine makes herself feel special by adventuring to exciting destinations of the world, some for selfless philanthropic reasons like visiting remote children’s orphanages, or some for very selfish reasons like reading up on exciting foreign cooking recipes (preferably on a sun kissed beach!)
Michelle Crickett
Finance and Project Administrator
.Michelle spent 15 years working for a large high street bank, qualifying as book-keeper and oracle of all things numerical. Since joining Woodreed, it has become clear exactly how multi-talented she is - which is why she now not only balances the books and keeps us on the payroll, but also plays an important part in supporting Account Management across a variety of projects. We’re glad we have someone who does more than just play with an abacus - she can also play sax!
Outside work, Michelle’s time is taken up with DIY, having moved recently, and looking after her two children who are fast approaching those glorious teenage years. She anticipates her negotiating skills being needed in full effect soon. Michelle also enjoys socialising, and doesn’t mind where as long as there’s good company and maybe a glass of wine or two (or three)..
Malcolm Porter
Studio artworker
There’s nothing much that Malcolm hasn’t produced in his varied studio life. Paste up, Letraset, marker visuals, airbrushing, illustration, you name it, he’s done it. And on pedigree brands such as Electrolux, Hornby, Scalextric and BUPA. That pragmatic attitude has now made him our prized resident artworker, and his recognized abilities are now enhanced by his fantastic Mac work. Never ruffled, he just gets on with.
In his spare time he concentrates on re-building bikes, visiting country houses and museums, and painting (not walls!). Once asked what project he’d love to do, he replied, “building a centurion tank out of matchsticks”. When asked where on earth he’d find the time, he said “it’s okay, it’s only going to be half size!”

Michelle Michelucci
Account Executive
Welcome back Michelle!! Yes, after spending a couple of years getting more comprehensive experience in other local creative businesses, Michelle missed us so much she came back for more. Her infectious mischievous giggle blended with her willingness to please have made her not only popular with us Woodies, but more importantly with our clients. She also possesses an advertising degree which adds to her already proven professional abilities.
Her skills don’t stop there because at home she can also cook wonderful proper Italian food in her recently acquired new house, which she takes great delight in decorating and buying furniture for. And there’s still time for her to curl up with her two kittens at the end of a hard days giggle.
